You can expect to pay $50-$65 for a Sweet Cloverdale Guinea Pig and $150-$200 for a Sweet Cloverdale Skinny Pig. We stand out from the average Guinea Pig breeder for a multitude of reasons, but the primary one being that this isn't a 'hobby' for Dallas - this is quite literally her lifestyle and what her day to day life revolves around. Every piggy born at Cloverdale Rabbitry is not only from two healthy and happy piggy parents, but is raised as an active part of our family from birth until take home day. Dallas also holds very high housing standards for her Guinea Pig herd (large C&C cages, fleece bedding, etc).
What does the price of each Cavy reflect?
When purchasing a Sweet Cloverdale Guinea Pig, you are not only purchasing a new member of your family, but you have a dedicated and hopelessly devoted breeder by your side for the entirety of that bunny's life. All Cloverdale Piggies leave with lifetime support and Dallas goes out of her way to ensure that you and your new piggy are set up for success.
"I can find plenty of Cavies for a fraction of the cost, will you negotiate your prices?"
You're right! There are many other breeders and Guinea Pigs readily available who may better fit your budget. We kindly ask that you seek out those options rather than asking us to accommodate you financially. We strongly believe that "you get what you pay for" and that's not to say that other wonderful and healthy piggies won't be offered at lower prices, it just means that ours will not be.
What age do you allow baby Guinea Pigs to go home?
We keep all piggies for a very minimum of 8 weeks. Dallas likes to ensure they have weaned properly from mama and are ready to join their new family.
Can we come visit the Homestead and Caviary?
For the safety and privacy of our family, home and animals we are closed to the public and will only meet in a neutral, public location. We appreciate your understanding.
Do you have a waiting list?
We do not keep an official waiting list but we do love to make and keep connections with future potential piggy families. Sending your application in as soon as you know you're ready and committed to getting a piggy will allow more time for Dallas to make contact with you and pair the right piggy with your family!
How long do Cavies live?
While piggies are more delicate than our dog and cat friends, they happen to have almost similar life expectancies. Guinea Pigs regularly live up to 6-8 years of age, with many reporting their companions to live into their teens!
